After some time spent in the BVI and St. Martin / Sint Maarten – it was time to start discovering some of the southern islands of the Caribbean Arch. We had a great time in St. Martin and will be back soon for more sailing, diving and some work to be performed [yes, there is always something to be done…]
We sailed down to Martinique and Moonwave performed very well. The sailing was mostly upwind again. During our trip from the US to BVI and BVI to Anguilla we have done more upwind sailing than the whole summer and trip across the Atlantic ;-)
We have anchored at “Le Marin”. The number of boats at the anchorages, mooring balls and marina is impressive. The marina is full and in general it seams like all the boats are getting bigger and longer in size. There are also some “world cruising wrecks” swimming/anchored around, rusty boats that look like they have come from far but not very seaworthy any more.
Here some impressions from Le Marin – lots of activities on the water and lots of kiteboarding going on around us on windy days.
We are looking forward to explore more of the southern islands soon, including St. Lucia and the Grenadines…
