We were the only “lifeabord” boat at the anchorage. There were some local fishing boats moored closer to the beach and some abandoned sailing boats. The only other boat that moved sometimes was a catamaran that does day charter trips. But with the crises, first lockdown and lack of tourists it only got taken out a couple of times on weekends.
From our anchorage we could see the long sandy beach, that definitively looked inviting for a stroll or a run in the morning. But we weren’t allowed ashore so we never had our toes in the sand. The beach was controlled by policemen on motocross bikes and 4WD during the lockdown hours. Later during the stay, the locals were allowed to attend the beach from 05am to 8am in the morning. We were following the local English newspaper online to keep informed [tico-times]
