We joined the yacht Moonwave off the island of Phuket and within hours we were blasting downwind towards another island. It was a fantastic short hop to blow the cob webs away from the 20 hours of flights from London. In a beautiful bay we anchored and settled into our very comfortable cabin. We were wined and dinned and slept in our secluded bay to only the gently sound of lapping water against the hull. For the rest of the trip we were treated to great hospitality from our two hosts, great food, great refreshments, great sailing and wonderful remote anchorages, totally out of the reach of “Normal” tourism.
No only is this boat a super luxurious platform for charter, few people would appreciate the technology onboard, carbon fibre for speed, electric motors for near silent motoring and masses of space to relax and enjoy. When the wind filled in we were treated to high speed, stable rides from this Nigel Irens designed Gunboat 60.
We spent four days onboard cruising the islands off Phuket, swimming, wakeboarding, and exploring. We would confidentially recommend this experience to sailors and non sailors alike. A truly unique experience.
