In this time of “reflection” I wanted to use this opportunity to talk a bit about my own “Moonwave Journey”. As the title says: “Time flies by” and it’s now over 8, yes eight years that I have joined Moonwave and her adventures. Luckily both Moonwave and myself have barely “aged” since ;-)
The beginnings in China were not easy but memorable. Looking back there are lots of anecdotes and unbelievable stories to tell.
Over the years, I have travelled to over 30 different countries and made lots of memories and friends all over the planet.
I have also learned soooo much about the technical aspects of Moonwave and boat building in general. I am very proud to be part of the project even if it’s represented countless hours. You can “read” the proof in the different articles on the blog. It’s amazing how far we have come and having Moonwave in the actual working state is a joy [even when blocked at anchor for weeks] ;-)
I have definitely improved my culinary and provision skills along the way. As well maintenance and sailing knowledge – even if my “steering” skills have still potential of improvement.
When asked which are my favorite anchorages – I can not answer as this would be an exhausted list. Unfortunately I lost count on the nautical miles covered on board of Moonwave – she brought us twice across the Atlantic and lots of memorable offshore passages and coastal trips.
Here are some random pictures showing some spotlights of the journey – I hope that there will be many new destinations to discover…
Have a stroll through the news section of www.moonwave.com to follow our journey and more to come…
Hope you both are well! Have a muffin and coffee for me ❤ Kelly -Rock Hall USA
